Where art meets science
Free admission — RSVP required
A collaboration with Stanford University exploring the intersection of glass with science, history, and culture. Topics rotate through: Glass Chemistry — the molecular structure of glass and why it behaves unlike any other material. Physics of Glass — optical properties, thermal dynamics, and glass as a scientific instrument. Glass History — from ancient Rome to Murano to the American Studio Glass Movement. Glass Futures — fiber optics, biomedical applications, and glass in space exploration. Each lecture features a Stanford professor or researcher paired with a studio demonstration.
