Sculpture with Treg Silkwood — Solid Glass & Asymmetry

Step outside the symmetry of the blowpipe. In this two-week intensive with Treg Silkwood, you'll explore solid glass sculpting and asymmetrical hot glass techniques that most classes never touch. Learn bit application for building complex forms, proper use of the garage and pick-up oven, and how to safely operate oxy/propane torches for texturing and shaping. Each student will complete both representational and abstract sculptural objects — plus pick up new tricks for more elaborate blown vessels. Treg's background includes decades of experience at the highest levels of the craft, including the Corning Museum's touring Hot Glass Roadshow.
