Murrine Masterclass with Penny Rakov

A deep dive into the ancient art of murrine with one of the technique's contemporary masters. Over two weeks, Penny Rakov guides you through the full murrine pipeline — designing patterns, pulling complex multi-layered cane, slicing precise cross-sections, and incorporating them into blown and solid forms. You'll create both simple geometric murrini and more complex pictorial designs. Students are encouraged to bring sketches of patterns they want to attempt. All color and materials provided.
